a Ritual dance mask from the
BIHAR district of Northren India or the Terai valley of
southern Nepal.
This is a Heavily forested Border area , where
they carve many types of masks , though in my experience I do not
re-call seeing another like this.
I estimate the age to be approx. late 19th to early 20th century.
The mask gas obvious handling and wear , with some losses , mainly one ear , which is an old loss worn smooth again from use.
The mask measures 19 inches tall x 9 inches wide.

This is an Old carved wooden mask in Archaic style from the Middle Hills region of Nepal.
Well worn showing Much handling and traditional use.

Old and authentic example of the Middle Hills Tribes Dance masks , Nepal , central Asia.
This
mask shows plenty of actual use as a Dance mask , with a well handled
and worn smooth areas and evidence of ritual material , note the multi-
layered surface. The mask has an aggressive style , perhaps this relates to the Magar
ethnic group.
This is NOT a new reproduction.
This mask measures 11 X 6 inches.

Carved wood set of Devotees / idols with heavy ritual use.
The carvings have a deep rich patina
from handling and wear for approx 300 years.
The figures measure approx 10 inches tall on custom display stands.
One
idol is missing a section of their hand , the other hand is nailed on ,
otherwise these figures are intact and quite a Rare find.

a Classic and fine old example it measures 15 1/2 inches tall X 8 1/2 inches deep. , not counting the height of the metal display stand which is included with purchase.

Woven rattan basket like structure reinforced with Bamboo slats creating a sturdy and protective hat.
In excellent condition and measures 7 1/4 inches tall x 10 inches across front to back. Not counting the display stand which is included with sale.

a Very elegant image of the Hindu deity SHIVA in phallic form known as a Lingam , this sculpture has a open attachment loop on the back , likely it one had a decorative finial now lost.
The Linga has one small 1 inch section chipped away (Not visible in the image) otherwise it is intact and in good condition.
5 3/8 inches tall X 2 3/8 inches wide.

Carved wooden Oil dish in the Form of a Horse , the tail also can be seen as a Cobra with open hood.
Covered in linear designs and geometric motifs , with signs of handling and use.
10 inches long x 2 1/2 inches tall.
Collected in Bombay in the 1960's
